Accessibility Services
At Building One, we will support your team in delivering accessible, code-conscious buildings by providing both construction document review and site observations. These services are designed to help identify any potential compliance concerns at the earliest stages of your project and before they become costly to correct in the field, or post-occupancy.
Accessibility Document Review
Before construction begins, our team will conduct a review of construction documents for general conformance with applicable federal, state, and local accessibility standards.
What We Review
-
2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design
-
FHA Guidelines
-
ANSI A117.1
-
Applicable state and local amendments
Our reviews are general in nature and are intended to identify areas of concern early, allowing the design team to make proactive adjustments. All findings are provided in a clear, organized format to help your team navigate potential accessibility issues with confidence.
Accessibility Site Observations
As construction progresses, Building One offers on-site accessibility observations to review constructed elements for general alignment with accessibility standards. These observations typically occur at key project milestones.
What To Expect
For multifamily housing, we conduct a representative sampling of unit types and common areas. Our goal is to observe each type of unit at least once during both the framing and finish stages. We will also observe leasing offices, clubhouses, amenity spaces, parking lots, and accessible routes, among other elements.
